Welcome!
Hi, I'm Naomi, my pronouns are she/her/hers. Our journey to a happier, more meaningful life begins with the simple hope that things can get better and it's powered by the courage to take that first step. I'm here to walk that path alongside you.
There is hope, even when your brain and body tells you there isn’t. Together, we'll create a secure and welcoming haven where you can bring your whole self. With a blend of curiosity and compassion, we'll explore the barriers that may be preventing you from living the life you desire. We will uncover the strategies and coping tools you've been using and evaluate if they are still working well in the present.
If you've been awake at night ruminating about things such as social interactions, parenting, relationships, your past, the future, or what you have said or done, therapy can help! If everyone around you sees a high functioning person who is doing all of the self care, yoga, meditation, exercising, socializing and yet inside you're feeling exhausted, frustrated, anxious, depressed or keep doing things in ways you would like to change, together we can uncover the why and start working towards the changes you want to make.
I am an inclusive, social justice oriented and LGBTQ2IA+ affirming therapist. I moved to Colorado for graduate school and like many others, fell in love with the mountains and sunshine and love to hike and garden. I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Social Work with a focus on Families and Adults and certification in Trauma in 2005 from University of Denver. My 14 years of work with veterans in the outpatient mental health clinic at the VA along with my prior work with women who have experienced intimate partner violence have shown me how the work we do in therapy can bring someone from a place of surviving to a joy filled life.
I love to support clients by unlocking the barriers that may be getting in the way of living the life they want by using a variety of modalities. I am a certified Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) provider who also adores Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Work, Polyvagal Informed Trauma Therapy, and practice from Attachment and Neurobiological lenses. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Ego State and Parts Work, and mindfulness. I am also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE). As a therapist who loves helping people heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression, I'd love to tell you more about how these modalities create long lasting and deep changes.
I would love to help you feel safe within yourself, your relationships and the world. Ready for meaningful change?
