About me: EMDR, IFS, Somatic work

Welcome to EMDR, IFS, and Somatic Therapy in Colorado

If you’ve been looking for trauma therapy or help with anxiety, depression, parenting, relationships or more, you’ve come to the right place. As a trauma therapist in Colorado, I’m certified in EMDR and love incorporating Internal Family Systems, somatic, attachment and nervous system work into sessions. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I’ve been providing therapy for over 20 years and I know what it’s like to be on the other side. I’ve experienced how EMDR can help with past traumas, heal attachment wounds, infidelity, parenting and more. I’ve worked with my own parts through IFS, somatic and nervous system work and I’d love to help you.

Our journey to a happier, more meaningful life begins with the simple hope that things can get better and it’s powered by the courage to take that first step. I’m here to walk that path alongside you with compassion, nurture and even laughter.

What can I help with?

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, caring, high-achieving adults who quietly carry more than most people realize.

You might struggle with:

  • Trauma or PTSD
  • Anxiety or constant overthinking
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Insomnia or feeling “tired but wired”
  • Relationship challenges and attachment wounds
  • Betrayal trauma or infidelity
  • Parenting stress
  • People pleasing and difficulty saying no
  • Perfectionism
  • Emotional neglect or childhood wounds
  • Depression
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself
  • A nervous system that struggles with freeze, fawn, collapse, fight or flight
  • Past narcissistic abuse or intimate partner violence
  •  Divorce
  • Empty nest
  • Systemic oppression
  • and more

Often people come to therapy wanting to shift patterns or choices they make. Often there isn’t one single event that explains why you struggle with something or feel this way. Sometimes it’s years of adapting.

Years of being:

The peacemaker.
The responsible one.
The one who never wanted to be “too much.”

Therapy helps us understand those adaptations with compassion.

My Approach

I don’t believe you’re broken or damaged or stuck.

I believe your mind and body adapted in incredibly intelligent ways to help you survive.

Together we’ll get curious about those adaptations instead of fighting them.

I often tell clients that healing isn’t about becoming someone different.

It’s about helping your nervous system recognize that you no longer have to live as if the past is still happening.

My work integrates:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Somatic Therapy
  • Attachment-Based Therapy
  • Nervous System and Polyvagal-informed approaches
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Ego State Therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Somatic Integration and Processing
  • Interpersonal Neurobiology

Every treatment plan is tailored to you. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach because everyone has a different story.

A little bit about me:

I am an inclusive, social justice oriented, feminist, and LGBTQ2IA+ affirming Colorado therapist. I moved to Colorado for graduate school and like many others, fell in love with the mountains and sunshine. I love to hike, garden (poorly), volunteer with and foster animals and read a good book with some frothy matcha.

I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Social Work with a focus on Families and Adults and Certification in Trauma from the University of Denver. My work with veterans in the outpatient mental health clinic at the VA hospital along with my prior work with women who have experienced intimate partner violence have shown me how the work we do in therapy can bring someone from a place of surviving to a joy filled life.

I love to support clients by unlocking the barriers that may be getting in the way of living the life they want by using a variety of modalities. I am a certified Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) provider who also adores Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Work, Nervous System Informed Trauma Therapy, and practice from Attachment and Neurobiological lenses. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Ego State and Parts Work, and mindfulness. I am also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE).

As a therapist who loves helping people heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression, I’d love to tell you more about how these modalities create long lasting and deep changes.

Therapy That Goes Beyond Talking About the Problem

One of the most common things I hear from new clients is:

“I understand why I feel this way… I just can’t seem to change it.”

That’s because many of our struggles aren’t simply stored as thoughts.

They’re stored as nervous system responses, emotional memories, protective patterns, relationship experiences, and beliefs that were learned long ago.

That’s where EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic therapy can make such a profound difference.

Rather than simply managing symptoms and learning more coping tools, we’ll work together to understand where those patterns came from, help your nervous system update old experiences, and create lasting change.

I would love to help you feel safe within yourself, your relationships and the world. Ready for meaningful change?
